Twelve people trapped in a former gold mine that is now a tourist attraction have been rescued, Colorado Governor Jared Polis said, while one person died and four others were injured. The accident occurred at a depth of around 150 metres in the former Mollie Kathleen Gold Mine in Cripple Creek, some 120 kilometres south of Denver, Teller County Sheriff Jason Mikesell said on Thursday.
