Two reactors at the Chinon nuclear plant in western France were shut down following a fire at the facility, electricity company EDF said on Saturday. A fire broke out at around 2:40 am (0140 GMT) on Saturday by the main transformer of production unit number 3 in a non-nuclear area, EDF said in a statement. The unit was shut down automatically as per protocols. The company said that the fire has been extinguished.
