Tokyo stocks opened lower Wednesday as investors sold export-related issues on the back of a stronger yen against the U.S. dollar. In the first 15 minutes of trading, the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average fell 266.00 points, or 0.74 percent, from Tuesday to 35,893.16. The broader Topix index was down 23.25 points, or 0.90 percent, at 2,553.29. On the top-tier Prime Market, decliners were led by mining, transportation equipment, and electric power and gas issues.
