Villagers are being urged to keep windows and doors shut as firefighters battle a blaze. Crews were called to Lodge Hill Lane in Chattenden, Hoo, nearRochester just before 6pm. Two fire engines are at the scene, which involves derelict properties. A statement from Kent Fire and Rescue said: “People living or working near to Lodge Hill Lane in Chattenden are advised to keep windows and doors closed due to smoke coming from a building fire. “Please share this information with any loved ones in the affected area, who might not have access to the internet.”
