Taiwan’s Defence Ministry said on Sunday that eight Chinese balloons were detected on Saturday, the first day of the Lunar New Year, after they crossed the median line of the Taiwan Strait. It was the second straight day that record eight Chinese balloons were found crossing the line. Any encroachment by Chinese equipment into Taiwanese territory is highly sensitive, given the very tense relations between Beijing and Taipei.
