New Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has nominated veteran diplomat and former nuclear negotiator Abbas Araghchi to be foreign minister, state news agency ISNA reported on Sunday. Araghchi still needs the approval of lawmakers in parliament, however their backing is considered assured. Araghchi served as ambassador to Finland and Japan.
