A real estate investor was sentenced Wednesday in a mortgage scheme that defrauded lenders and the government of more than $1 million. Cabral Simpson, 47, of Orange, was sentenced to time already served – 20 months – and has been ordered to pay $1.29 million in restitution after pleading guilty to conspiracy to commit wire fraud in the case, the U.S. Attorney’s Office announced.
