Sanewashing (or sane-washing) is beginning to appear in columns of traditional news outlets, having migrated from independent voices and magazines. If you’ve missed the term but are following the utterings of Donald Trump, you might guess that this is shorthand for a mainstream media “coherency bias” that implies Trump has “coherent” policy proposals.
