Herne Bay boss Steve Lovell hopes to reap the benefits of a deeper squad as cup football continues to dominate. Lovell’s side lost for the first time this season on Tuesday night – going down 2-1 at Hythe in their Isthmian South East fixture, losing to a controversial penalty. Their next four games are in knockout football before playing their first home league match of the season at the end of this month – a game which will be moved if they win on Saturday.
