Plans to construct a modern communal building in a conservation areas have been faced with opposition. Newark Town Council’s planning committee met to discuss plans put forward by St.Leonard’s Hospital Trust to install a single story building at Cottage Homes on London Road. St Leonard’s Hospital Trust, who own and maintain the site, are a registered charity providing accommodation to people over the age of 60.
