Nancy Shepherd secured a gold medal at the prestigious Golden Girl competition in Sweden. Shepherd, who boxes for Kent Gloves ABC in Gillingham, was taking part in this competition for the third year running, winning a gold and a silver medal previously. This time around, after all the opponents withdrew in her original weight group, she had to box those above under-57kg. On the Saturday, she drew the favourite in the competition, an opponent from the Czech Republic and a two-time European medallist.
