Germany’s commissioner for victims of the former communist East German regime has urged parliament to make it easier for victims of political persecution to claim compensation for health problems. In a special report to Germany’s parliament on Tuesday, Evelyn Zupke argued that lawmakers should streamline the process for having health problems recognized as a result of East German political persecution.
