Iran’s Supreme Court has quashed the death sentence handed to renowned Iranian labour rights activist Sharifeh Mohammadi, her lawyer said on Saturday. Mohammadi’s sentence would be re-examined in a new trial, her attorney Ami Raissian told the Shargh newspaper. She was detained in the northern Iranian city of Rasht in December last year and has since been held in various prisons.
