Former player Christian Gentner was appointed sporting director at VfB Stuttgart, the Bundesliga club said on Tuesday. Gentner, who won the Bundesliga with Stuttgart in 2007, was previously head of the professional players’ department at the club. The post of sporting director have been vacant since July.
