New York’s highest court rejected Donald Trump’s latest appeal of the gag order in his Manhattan criminal trial. The order issued by justice Juan Merchan prohibits the former president from publicly disparaging attorneys serving in the district attorney’s office, court personnel and jurors who found him guilty on 34 felony counts, but the Court of Appeals succinctly declined to hear Trump’s new arguments opposing it. “Appeal dismissed without costs, by the Court sua sponte, upon the ground that no substantial constitutional question is directly involved,” the panel ruled.
