Germany have defeated Chile in advance on Thursday to claim their second win in two group stage matches in Zhuhai, China at the Davis Cup. The Germans lead 2-0 after Maximilian Marterer prevailed 6-1, 6-3 against Tomas Barrios Vera and Yannick Hanfmann defeated Alejandro Tabilo 7-5, 6-4. They will have a chance to sweep all three victories in the tie if they win the doubles match later. Germany top Group C ahead of the United States, Slovakia and Chile. The top two teams in each group will advance to the Davis Cup final eight in Malaga on November 19-24.
