A tradition dating back hundreds of years continued the legacy of helping the community. The annual Hercules Clay commemoration is usually marked on the closest Sunday to March 11, however, this year it took place on Saturday, March 9 because it coincided with Mothering Sunday. The usual church service didn’t go ahead but instead a donation was made to Newark Foodbank.
