Murat Yakin has agreed to stay on as Switzerland coach, the Swiss football federation said on Friday. Details of the contract, such as its length, were not disclosed. Switzerland made a good impression at Euro 2024 and reached the quarter-finals, in which they were beaten by finalists England on penalties. Yarkin has been serving as coach since 2021. He led Switzerland to the last 16 at the 2022 Qatar World Cup, but they were thrashed 6-1 by Portugal.
