The partial re-run of Germany’s 2021 federal elections in Berlin on Sunday will lead to the shrinking of the Bundestag by one seat, the Federal Returning Officer said. The Bundestag will have 735 seats, including 91 occupied by the Free Democratic Party (FDP) which lost one seat. The other parties will keep the same number of seats. In the re-run, the Greens also lost 0.1 percentage points compared to 2021. The Christian Democratic Union (CDU) and Alternative for Germany (AfD) each gained 0.1 percentage points.
