The Catholic Church in France is opening its archives on the disgraced priest Abbé Pierre, authorities said on Thursday, after further allegations of historic abuse emerged. The French Bishops’ Conference said files relating to Abbé Pierre would be made available to researchers and journalists investigating the charges against the clergyman, who died in 2007 at the age of 94.
