A humanitarian pier off the coast of Gaza built by the US military that was hampered with problems will shut down soon. President Biden announced plans to put the pier in place for aid deliveries as famine loomed in Gaza, an enclave of 2.3 million people. However, the pier was hit with problems after it broke apart and sustained damage in heavy seas back in May.
