In England the waiting list stands at 7.61 million, with more than 350,000 suffering delays of more than a year. Under the Tories the NHS last met its targets for A&E waits and cancer treatment in 2015. A year ago Rishi Sunak pledged to cut waiting lists but since then the number has increased by more than 400,000.
