Doctors at Bishop’s Stortford’s South Street Surgery are facing the prospect of remaining in a “less than ideal” building as their moving plans have stalled. Last month, its staff fielded 10,399 telephone calls and medics conducted 2,802 face-to-face consultations and 1,278 by telephone along with 2,974 e-consults. Housebuilding across the town has increased the practice’s roll from a stable 19,000 patients to almost 23,000.
