Last week I received a circular from Councillor Irene Brown, an Independent councillor for Newark and former Town Mayor, asking me to vote for Robert Jenrick. So much for Independence! She should have kept her views to herself. I have always thought a lot of Independent councillors are closet Tories and in her case she should stand as a Conservative.
