A talk on an exciting new Roman discovery was held on election night. Members of the public were treated to a “superb and fascinating presentation” by Jo Thirtover on Thursday about the latest findings from a new Roman site uncovered near Hermitage, said Joy Appleton, of the Boxford Heritage Project. The talk was held at Boxford Heritage Centre, which made national headlines itself last June with the discovery of 6,000-year-old piece of timber.
