A new café is planned to be built next to a historic castle garden overlooking the sea. An application has been submitted to create the modern one-storey kiosk alongside Sandown Castle Community Garden in Sandown Road, Deal. Having been demolished 1863, all that remains of the castle – originally built by Henry VIII – is ruins. But a garden has been created around its old walls and is now a popular walking spot.
