The world’s oldest nuclear power plant still in operation was reconnected to the Swiss grid on Tuesday after a malfunction led to an automatic shutdown a day earlier. The Axpo energy company said the steam generator in Block 1 at the Beznau plant, 30 kilometres north-west of Zurich, was fixed after experts rectified a faulty valve.
