A pair thieves pulled off a jewelry heist Thursday afternoon when one of them distracted a store employee long enough to the allow the other to snatch $31,000 in pricey baubles. The theft occurred a jewelry store on Grove Street near Bay Street in Downtown Jersey City at approximately 2:40 p.m., police said in radio transmissions. Jersey City police have not responded to a request for more information. The two fled on Bay Street.
