US aircraft manufacturer Boeing projected strong, sustained growth in the global air cargo sector on Tuesday, forecasting an average annual increase of 4% in air cargo traffic through 2043. The company expects the global air cargo fleet to expand by two-thirds, reaching 3,900 aircraft by 2043, up from 2,340 in 2023.
