A major fire broke out on Saturday in a warehouse in the Russian Baltic metropolis of St Petersburg, the Russian Civil Defence announced on Telegram. The fire spread over an area of around 70,000 square metres, with videos on the internet showing dense grey columns of smoke rising into the sky. The cause of the fire was initially unknown.
