Tokyo stocks surged Tuesday morning, with the Nikkei index climbing over 2 percent, as technology shares soared tracking an overnight rise of their U.S. counterparts. The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average rose 760.55 points, or 2.17 percent, from Friday to 35,785.55. The broader Topix index was up 44.10 points, or 1.78 percent, at 2,527.40. Japanese financial markets were closed Monday for a national holiday.
