Today, July 12, 2024, Honor has unveiled a number of long-awaited gadgets in China. The Chinese brand unveiled its latest generation of foldable smartphones, such as the Magic Vs3. Now, here’s everything you need to know about its new premium tablet, the MagicPad 2.
Honor MagicPad 2 specifications
The MagicPad 2 features a tall 12.3-inch OLED display with a resolution of 3000 x 1920 pixels, a refresh rate of up to 144 Hz, and a peak brightness of 1600 nits. Under the hood is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SoC, which is paired with 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of internal storage. MagicPad 2 runs on Android 14 based on the custom MagicOS 8.0.1 out of the box.
It’s worth noting that the new Honor tablet only offers WiFi connectivity, despite the technical support for 5G networks. Therefore, there is a possibility that a 5G model will appear on the market later. The company has equipped the MagicPad 2 with a variety of artificial intelligence features, such as voice noise reduction, AI Big Model cloud model, and voice-to-text for multi-party conferences.
A massive 10,050 mAh battery powers this tablet, which supports 66W wired fast charging. Despite these powerful specs, Honor has managed to fit the MagicPad 2 into an ultra-thin 5.8mm body. In terms of optics, you get a 13-megapixel camera on the back, while the front-facing camera is a 9-megapixel selfie snapper. Other features include Bluetooth 5.3, three microphones, and spatial sound thanks to a combination of eight speakers, as well as support for the Honor Magic Pencil 3 stylus (sold separately).
Price and availability
Pre-orders for the Honor MagicPad 2 will begin on July 19, 2024. It will be available in three color variants, namely: Moon Shadow White, Starry Black, and Sky Blue. Buyers can get the MagicPad 2 with four memory configurations, so here are their prices:
- 8GB RAM + 256GB storage – 2,999 yuan (approximately $413)
- 12 GB of RAM + 256 GB – 3,299 yuan (approximately $455)
- 16 GB RAM + 512 GB – 3,699 yuan (approximately $510)
- 16 GB RAM + 1 TB – 4,199 yuan (approximately $579)
