A man with a firearm in a Hamburg tower block on Sunday triggered a major police operation. He fired shots from his flat in the suburb of Altona late on Sunday evening, said a police spokesman early on Monday morning. Special forces finally arrested him in his flat. According to the statement, there was no danger to bystanders. The spokesman said he could not yet provide any information on the shooter’s motive. Detectives were still investigating his flat that night. The spokesman did not confirm reports that shots had been fired at police officers.
