An aid convoy carrying food reached the north of the embattled Gaza Strip via a new military road, the Israel Defense Forces have said. Six lorries carrying aid from the UN World Food Programme (WFP) entered the north of the territory via the so-called 96th gate as part of a pilot scheme to prevent the aid from falling into the hands of the militant Palestinian Hamas organization, the IDF said.
