Last year, Xiaomi introduced the flagship series of tablets Xiaomi Pad 6. Therefore, it is expected that this year the brand will introduce the Pad 7 line. New information from a Digital Chat Station insider suggests that Xiaomi’s Redmi sub-brand is also working on a flagship tablet. Here’s a look at what the insider said about the Redmi tablet.
Redmi’s productivity-focused tablet will be released next year
An insider has worked up information about two upcoming tablets that seem to come from the Xiaomi camp. One of them is a regular large-sized flagship tablet, which was previously mentioned to have a matte-backlit OLED display with a square rear camera module located in the upper left corner.
Additionally, the sub-brand is prototyping a high-performance smaller tablet that is likely to be released next year. The former appears to be one of the Xiaomi Pad 7 series tablets, while the latter seems to be a Redmi product.
It seems that the Xiaomi Pad 7 series will focus on a premium experience in aspects such as display and design. On the other hand, the compact Redmi tablet will be a performance-oriented device.
The insider revealed in the comments to the post that the Redmi tablet will be equipped with an LCD panel. The product is currently at the prototyping stage, a process that involves creating a functional model for testing and refinement before mass production.
There is no information on the name or specifications of the Redmi tablet at this time. Currently, the Redmi Pad Pro 5G, equipped with the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset, is the most powerful tablet from the Redmi brand. It remains to be seen whether the compact, performance-oriented tablet will be called Redmi Pad Pro 2 or something else.
