At least five people have been killed and 13 injured in Russian attacks on two towns in eastern Ukraine’s front-line Donetsk region, a top official said on Friday. The shelling was centred on Myrnohrad and Kostiantynivka, said the region’s military governor Vadym Filashkin. Russian forces have repeatedly fired on Myrnohrad in particular over the past few days, he said. The town had a population of just under 47,000 before the war began.
