Rye Street is to be shut yet again later this month – so that the “wrong type of crossing” can be installed in the “wrong place”, according to campaigners. Highways authority Hertfordshire County Council (HCC) has installed temporary traffic lights and will close the B1004 road entirely for six days from Monday to Saturday, August 26-31.
