Tokyo stocks erased earlier gains and were mixed Wednesday morning on political uncertainties in Japan after news reports Prime Minister Fumio Kishida intends not to run in the upcoming ruling party’s presidential election in September. The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average fell 77.25 points, or 0.21 percent, from Tuesday to 36,155.26. The broader Topix index was up 11.87 points, or 0.46 percent, at 2,565.42.
