This year’s series of Nobel Prizes ends on Monday with the announcement of the winner in the economics category. The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences in Stockholm is due to award the prize at 11:45 am (0945 GMT) at the earliest. Last year’s prize went to US economist Claudia Goldin for her research into the role of women in the labour market.
