MediaTek has released Dimensity 8250, a new chipset aimed at premium mid-range smartphones. In fact, it is an updated version of the Dimensity 8200, with major improvements in artificial intelligence.
The 4nm chip boasts an octa-core processor with one high-performance Arm Cortex-A78 core clocked at 3.1 GHz. It also features a Mali-G610 MC6 GPU for smooth visualization and a 580 APU for advanced artificial intelligence processing.
The Dimensity 8250 boasts an impressive camera capability that supports high-resolution sensors up to 320 megapixels and stunning 4K 60fps HDR video recording. It works flawlessly with high refresh rates, reaching 120Hz for WQHD+ displays and an incredible 180Hz for Full HD+ displays.
The fully integrated 5G modem delivers first-class connectivity with download speeds of up to 4.7 Gbps. It supports the latest WiFi 6E standard and Bluetooth 5.3. The chipset also includes support for India’s NavIC navigation system alongside global options such as GPS, BeiDou, Glonass, Galileo and QZSS.
OPPO Reno 12 is rumored to be the first smartphone with such a powerful chipset. We can expect this chip to be used in other upcoming mid-range devices as well.
