A visiting Dutch PSV Eindhoven fan was assaulted and injured before the Champions League match in the western German city of Dortmund on Wednesday, police said. The 35-year-old was punched in the head by an unknown attacker and then fell to the ground unconscious, Dortmund police said. “Contrary to initial assessments, there was no danger to life,” they said. The seriously injured man was taken to hospital. The police have launched an investigation. There were also at least two people injured by pyrotechnics on the Alter Markt market place, who had to be treated by the emergency services.
