Billionaire philanthropistMelinda French Gates will step down as the co-chair of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. The ex-wife of Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates announced on social media that she will be resigning with $12.5 billion to “commit to my work on behalf of women and families”. Melinda said she was “immensely proud” of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation – which she and Bill started in 2000. In 2021, after 27 years of marriage, the pair announced their separation.
