A Kent MP has condemned the “appalling” shooting of former US president Donald Trump and said it is a stark reminder of the personal risks those seeking high office take. Mr Trump said on his Truth Social media platform that a bullet had “pierced” his ear before he was dragged to the ground by Secret Service agents at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania.
