LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. — A baby girl will be put up for adoption after she was anonymously surrendered to a drop-off box in Mehlville for newborns whose parents are unable to care for them, officials said Monday. The baby, a healthy newborn, was placed Thursday in a “Safe Haven Baby Box” at a Mehlville Fire Protection District station, Chief Brian Hendricks said.
