Atlantic County investigators believe a deceased local businessman is the father of a woman found dead in a South Jersey swamp nearly four decades ago. The woman’s remains were found beside Elwood-Weekstown Road in Mullica Township on July 19, 1988, according to New Jersey State Police reports. The woman is believed to have been a homicide victim at the time she died, which investigators believe occurred around Jan. 1 of that year.
