A New Jersey zoo exhibit that once housed as many as 80 birds is no more. The Cape May County Park and Zoo is demolishing its World of Birds Aviary, and has relocated all of the animals the structure once housed, zoo officials announced. “Honestly, the building’s design wasn’t made for this type of environment,” Cape May County Park and Zoo Director, Edward Runyon, said of what led to the decision to shutter and knock down the exhibit. “When it would storm and rain, the building always flooded.” The aviary originally opened in 1998.
