Xiaomi and Redmi are reportedly working on several phones based on the next-generation Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset. Xiaomi 15 and 15 Pro with the new chip are expected to debut in October. Redmi K80 Pro is also expected to be equipped with this chipset. Earlier this week, Digital Chat Station published the key specifications of the Redmi K80 Pro. In a new post on Weibo, DCS shared additional information about the device.
Redmi K80 Pro key details leaked
The aforementioned leak suggests that the Redmi K80 Pro will feature a new high-capacity battery that supports 100W charging. However, while some previous reports claimed that it will have a 6,000 mAh battery, it is also reported that it will feature a 5,500 mAh battery. Recall that the Redmi K70 Pro, which debuted last year, was equipped with a 5,000 mAh battery.
DCS reported that the K80 Pro will be equipped with an ultra-high frequency display from Huaxing. For those who don’t know, Huaxing is a subsidiary of China Star Optoelectronics Technology (CSOT), which is a division of the Chinese corporation TCL. The outer glass of the screen has been reinforced for greater durability. In addition, the phone will be equipped with a single-point ultrasonic fingerprint sensor under the display.
Previous leaks claimed that the Redmi K80 Pro will have a flat OLED panel with a 2K resolution. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 4-powered phone will have a round camera module with a 50-megapixel primary camera, an ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 50-megapixel telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. The phone is expected to have a metal center frame and a glass back. It looks like the Redmi K80 series will make its debut in China by the end of October, with sales starting in November.
