Baiba Braze has been nominated as Latvian foreign minister after Krisjanis Karins resigned in late March following a scandal over the use of charter flights, Prime Minister Evika Silina announced in Riga on Monday. Braze had many years of experience in diplomacy and international relations, Silina said. The Latvian parliament has still to approve the appointment, with a vote likely on Thursday.
