Sixth-formers at Hockerill Anglo-European College are world beaters after scoring highly in the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme. The Dunmow Road secondary students take the exams as an alternative to A-levels. In all, 102 Year 13 pupils took the IB Diploma this year and achieved an average point score of 34, well above the global average of 30.32. Fourteen scored 40 points or over – equivalent to an A-level score of 4 A*s and an A – and four scored 44 points. Only 8.55% of students in the IB cohort worldwide last year achieved 40 to 45 points.
