The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) dismissed India’s Vinesh Vinesh appeal against her disqualification from the Paris Olympic wrestling competition and her request for a shared silver medal. Vinesh was disqualified for being overweight in the women’s 50kg category on the morning of her gold medal bout. Vinesh, who was unseeded, had qualified for the final after winning three bouts, when she became the first Indian female wrestler to enter a gold medal bout.
